The primary eBay fee is a percentage of the total selling price, called the "Final Value Fee," or FVF. Other fees may be added for special listing details and the FVF may be lower for eBay Store subscribers.
The total average percentage eBay will take is 12.35% (10% FVF + 2.35% eBay Managed Payments fee). Final Value Fees can change based the category of your listing, and if you are an eBay Store subscriber.
You can lower eBay fees by becoming a Basic eBay Store subscriber, not listing more items than your monthly free limit. Keep in mind that eBay Managed Payment fees will also add to the total fees from eBay.
For most transactions, PayPal fees are 2.9% of the transaction price, plus a $0.30 fixed fee, where eBay Managed Payment fees are 2.35% plus $0.30
If your monthly insertion fees cost more than a store subscription, it is worth it. On top of the free monthly insertion fees, you will also have lower Final Value Fees if you subscribe to at least a Basic Store.
